Is Running Or Bad?

What about running?  Is it Good or bad for you?

It’s a simple form of exercise, but some might argue running is bad for you. Some believe that running puts additional stresses on your joints.  Repeated pounding of the pavements can cause injuries, especially if incorrect footwear is worn.  Many runners seem to overlook their upper body strength.  Their legs may be incredible, but overall they will lack.  Injuries can be common if you do not warm up properly.

While there exists the potential for injury while running, there are many benefits. Some of these benefits include potential weight loss, improved cardiovascular and respiratory health, improved cardiovascular fitness, reduced cholesterol, strengthening of bones,  It can show strengthening of the immune system and an improved self-esteem and emotional state. Running, like all forms of regular exercise, can effectively slow or reverse the effects of aging.

Running can assist people in losing weight, staying in shape and improving body composition. Research suggests that the person of average weight will burn approximately 100 calories per mile run. Running increases metabolism, even after running.

The exercise will also ensure that your body is reinvigorated after being stationary throughout the working day. Running can also help keep your cholesterol levels down. 

Becoming a runner brings a whole host of positive health benefits. Do not shy away from giving running a try.  With good hydration and the correct footwear this could be the first step to good health.
